That’s why we are invested in helping our associates realize their potential, and it’s why we nurture a cohesive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment where all are empowered and incentivized to contribute.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace

Our investment in people starts with our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). We’re working to create a workplace culture where people feel comfortable being their true selves so they can perform at their best and love their work. 

As part of our inclusive culture, we recruit and develop associates based on their individual talents and performance, with zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment based on age, race, religious beliefs, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, experience, national origin, style or cultural background. A culture of inclusion that maximizes our collective diversity makes our business and community stronger. 

We’re also building systems that embed our DEI commitment throughout our business, including listening groups to better understand what’s needed, training to help eradicate unconscious bias and support inclusion, employee resource groups, our Associate Inclusion Index and our U.S. Supplier Diversity Program.

Associate engagement

When we have a strong, healthy, mutually beneficial relationship with associates, they can do their best work and help us deliver value for our customers and shareholders. We measure associate engagement annually to make sure we’re continually improving. 

In October of 2021, we granted non-temporary Zurn associates currently with the company a long-term equity incentive, recognizing that being an owner of our businesses enhances personal engagement in achieving our collective goals. When the Zurn and Elkay businesses merged, we did the same for Elkay associates.

Professional development

We support associates’ efforts to build new skills and advance in their careers. Their growth drives with ours. 

Our development programs include tuition reimbursement opportunities, self-directed manager development programs, virtual leadership development courses, our Zurn U educational software platform, employee resource groups for networking and mentoring, and an extensive online forum of continuous improvement stories where our facilities and individuals can share learning that helps us all grow.
