At Zurn Elkay Water Solutions, we’re committed to having the most highly motivated, diverse team and perspectives in our industry, and creating a culture where people feel like they belong and can perform at their best.
That’s why our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitment is built into our company’s programs and processes, from talent acquisition to development to succession planning. We have zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment based on age, race, religious beliefs, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, experience, national origin, style and cultural background.
Training and support
Our annual Code of Conduct training includes two modules designed to increase DEI awareness and support: Overcoming Unconscious Bias in the Workplace and Leading Diversity. These modules demonstrate best practices on how to be an inclusive leader, as well as how to manage and leverage diversity to benefit associates, customers and the organization.
We also have multiple Employee Resource Groups that support inclusion and offer ways for our associates to build connections in our workforce and community. Plus, we prioritize belonging, and measure our progress with our Associate Inclusion Index.
Tracking our diversity
Through 2021, here’s a look at Zurn’s diversity progress:
26% Hispanic or Latinx
8% Black or African American
2% Multiracial, Native American, Pacific Islander
Diversity on our Board
We’re also working to build a more diverse Board of Directors that reflects the people we serve. As of December 2021, three of our nine directors were either women or non-white.
We’ve set a goal for women to make up at least 30% of our Board in the future, and we are looking into other ways to promote diversity on the Board and in our workplace.
