To create sustainably inspired solutions for our customers, we need a robust talent pipeline that brings great people into our company. Our intern program is designed to do just that. We’re proud that the program provides early exposure to our business and challenge interns with meaningful projects for on-the-job learning.
We give our interns responsibility to own their projects and further progress in their careers. They work across many areas of our business to curate a variety of experiences, including supply chain engineering, manufacturing engineering, creative services, digital content, internal auditing, risk analysis, commercial finance and more. Each intern plays a role in advancing the company, as we champion teamwork and collaboration.
An opportunity to make an impact
In addition to career development, our internship program emphasizes social responsibility by engaging our interns in community activities. These opportunities help in exposing them to the positive impact businesses have on their communities and instill in them the value in giving back. Like associates, interns have paid time for volunteerism, contributing to the company’s thousands of hours of local impact.
Since we began our internship program, several interns have been hired into roles on various teams, including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, IT, Finance and Human Resources. We actively recruit a diverse pool of students and work to achieve an inclusive environment, not only for our associates but for our interns as well.
The program partners with multiple schools to ensure a broad and inclusive array of student applicants. Academic partners include Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Penn State University, Auburn University, Virginia Tech and North Carolina State. Around half of our interns typically come from partner schools.
