Efficient water management has never been more important. We all need clean water — to drink, to heat and cool our homes and workplaces, to sanitize equipment, stifle fires, and much more.
Yet two-thirds of the world’s population experiences water scarcity at least one month of the year, and the ongoing climate crisis is likely to exacerbate this problem. As demand for water increases, resource management must respond accordingly, and without sacrificing performance and efficiency.
Leading as water stewards
At Zurn Elkay Water Solutions, we see our role as water stewards. Consistent with our commitment to sustainability, we know our actions and products can have profound effects on the future of our society and the planet.
We believe we have a duty to develop resource-efficient products that conserve as much water as possible — and we’re relentless in our pursuit of sustainable progress.
The impact adds up
As a result, we estimate that Zurn engineered products saved 34 billion gallons of water in calendar year 2021 – about as much as Wisconsin uses in two months. We aim to increase that figure to 40 billion gallons saved by 2024.
These savings are based on number of products sold for a combination of our products, including:
Our manual and sensor flush valves, which save 20% more water versus the standard flow products
Our sensor faucets and low-flow manual faucets, which save 50% more water versus the standard flow products
Our low-flow toilet bowls, which save 20% more water versus the standard 1.6 gallon per flush products
Our waterless urinals, which save 100% of water versus standard 1.0 gallons per flush urinals
Our pressure reducing valves, which reduce water system pressure rates
